Tuft & Needle was founded in 2012 by two software engineers who wanted to disrupt the mattress industry. Today, Tuft & Needle offers not just mattresses, but also bedding and pillows, all constructed with an eye for quality and a determination to never overcharge customers. The company has been built around providing superior customer service, and its 100-Night Sleep Trial allows customers to try pillows and mattresses risk-free.
The Tuft & Needle Pillow is available in one firmness option but is offered in Standard and King sizes. The core of the pillow is constructed of Tuft & Needle’s proprietary Adaptive® Foam, with a density and firmness that are designed to work for most sleepers. Both the pillow and cover are breathable, so they feel cool throughout the night. The Adaptive® Foam has been lab-tested to last 25 years and does not compress or degrade over time in the way that memory foam does.

How Does the Tuft & Needle Premium Perform?
Designed to combine support and comfort, the Tuft & Needle Pillow outperforms many memory foam, down, and fiber pillows. This highly durable pillow is soft and contours to the shape of your head, yet its 5 inch loft helps to maintain ideal spine alignment for comfort and quality sleep. Because the pillow itself and the cover are both breathable, they feel cool to the touch all night long, so you don’t have to flip the pillow even if you wake up during the night.
Sleepers who prefer very firm or very soft pillows may not find this pillow to be a great fit, but for most sleepers, the firmness and comfort are ideal. While this pillow does cost more than other models, its quality is evident. The pillow has been made here in the United States, and Tuft & Needle’s 3-year limited warranty is hard to beat. The pillow comes with a 100-Night Sleep Trial, and Tuft & Needle will offer a full refund and pay return shipping. With an offer like that, it’s worth it to try the pillow to see if it’s right for you.

What Type of Sleeper is Well-Suited to a Tuft & Needle Pillow?
Side Sleepers: This pillow’s 5 inch loft and contouring design makes it a very good choice for most side sleepers. The loft provides plenty of support to keep your head and neck in a natural alignment, but this pillow is also soft enough so that you can sink into it a bit and feel comfortable. The cover is both soft and breathable, so even with your face pressed into the pillow, you’ll feel cool throughout the night.
Back Sleepers: With its combination of support and softness, this pillow pairs well with back sleepers. Its 5 inch loft offers ideal head and neck alignment for most back sleepers, which can help to prevent muscle cramping and can improve your overall comfort. The soft, breathable cover feels cool against the back of your neck and, while the pillow does contour to the shape of your head, it still offers enough support so that you don’t feel like you’re sinking in too much.
Stomach Sleepers: Because this pillow has a 5 inch loft and is supportive, stomach sleepers may find that it’s a bit too high and that it creates an unnatural angle in their necks. Whether the pillow works for stomach sleepers will partially depend on personal preference, though. Its soft and breathable cover feels cool to the touch all night long, which is ideal when sleeping on your stomach with much of your face against the pillow.
